Bennett says his party will not join alternate government if Netanyahu resigns.

The HaBayit Hayehudi chairman said his party would support an early election rather than an alternate government if the prime minister is forced to resign over the criminal cases involving him.HaBayit Hayehudi chairman Naftali Bennett said Wednesday his party will not be part of any attempt to form an alternate government in case Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is forced to step down.
Last week, Bennett defended Netanyahu and said the allegations against him do not warrant a resignation. “You do not oust a prime minister over cigars,” he said, referring to the allegations that Netanyahu received gifts worth hundreds of thousands of shekels, including cigars and champagne, from US-based Israeli businessman Arnon Milchan.
